Khazanah Madani: Islamic Education is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that employs a rigorous peer-review process as the primary mechanism for ensuring the quality and integrity of its publications. Every article published in the journal undergoes evaluation by experts in relevant fields to assess its originality, academic quality, scientific contribution, and methodological validity. The journal publishes empirical research articles, conceptual papers, systematic literature reviews (SLR), meta-analyses, bibliometric studies, case studies, and educational innovations in the field of Islamic Education. As a scholarly publication committed to advancing Islamic education at both national and international levels, Khazanah Madani: Islamic Education upholds the highest standards of publication ethics throughout the publication process involving authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This publication ethics statement is based on the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines

The publication of an article in Khazanah Madani: Islamic Education represents an important contribution to the advancement of knowledge and scholarship in Islamic Education. Published articles reflect the quality of the work of the authors, their affiliated institutions, the editorial board, reviewers, and the publisher. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process are expected to understand and comply with internationally recognized standards of publication ethics. These ethical responsibilities apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. The publisher is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are made independently and are free from commercial, political, institutional, or personal influence.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts are suitable for publication based on their scholarly contribution, originality, methodological rigor, significance of findings, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. Editorial decisions are made based on the outcomes of the peer-review process while considering legal requirements concerning copyright, defamation, research ethics, and plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using internationally recognized plagiarism-detection software. The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 20% for the overall manuscript and 3% from any single source. Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, falsification, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected either before or after peer review.

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual and academic merit without discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political beliefs, or institutional affiliation. Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and may disclose manuscript information only to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial team members directly involved in the review process, and the publisher when necessary. Editors must not use unpublished information obtained through submitted manuscripts for personal research or gain without the explicit written consent of the authors. Editors who have a conflict of interest regarding a manuscript must withdraw from the editorial handling of that submission.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers contribute significantly to editorial decision-making by providing objective, independent, and constructive evaluations of submitted manuscripts. Their assessments assist editors in determining the scientific quality and publication suitability of manuscripts while helping authors improve the quality of their work. Reviewers who believe they are not sufficiently qualified to review a manuscript or are unable to complete the review within the specified timeframe should promptly notify the editor and decline the review invitation. All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, reproduce, or discuss the manuscript with any third party without authorization from the editor. Reviews should be conducted objectively, professionally, and based on scholarly evidence. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate, and all comments should be expressed clearly, respectfully, and supported by academic arguments. Reviewers are expected to identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and to alert the editor to any substantial similarity, duplicate publication, plagiarism, or citation manipulation they discover. Reviewers should not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from professional relationships, personal relationships, research collaborations, institutional affiliations, or academic competition.

Peer Review Process

Khazanah Madani: Pendidikan Islam  adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review system in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, manuscripts may be accepted without revision, accepted subject to minor revisions, accepted subject to major revisions, or rejected. In certain circumstances, the editor may appoint a third reviewer when additional expert evaluation is required.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are required to present their research accurately, honestly, transparently, and objectively. Research data must be reported comprehensively to allow verification and replication by other researchers whenever appropriate. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, or deliberate misrepresentation of research findings constitutes serious ethical misconduct and is unacceptable. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works. Any use of ideas, data, text, images, tables, or findings originating from other sources must be properly cited and acknowledged. All forms of plagiarism, including direct plagiarism, self-plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, and paraphrasing plagiarism, are strictly prohibited. Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Duplicate publication or redundant publication of substantially similar research without appropriate disclosure is considered unethical.

All sources used in the research and manuscript preparation must be properly acknowledged according to the journal’s citation standards. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception of the study, research design, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of findings, or manuscript preparation. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript, agreed to the order of authorship, and consented to its submission to the journal. Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal conflicts of interest that may influence the research findings or their interpretation. All funding sources supporting the research must also be clearly identified. Authors are encouraged to retain their research data and be prepared to provide access to such data when necessary for scientific verification. If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in a published article, they are obligated to promptly notify the editor and cooperate in issuing a correction, erratum, or retraction when appropriate.

Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher of Khazanah Madani: Islamic Education is responsible for safeguarding editorial independence, supporting academic integrity, ensuring the continuity of a transparent peer-review process, and responding appropriately to allegations of publication misconduct. The publisher will facilitate corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions whenever necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record. The publisher does not tolerate any form of publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, duplicate publication, or abuse of editorial authority. Khazanah Madani: Pendidikan Islam is fully committed to upholding the principles of integrity, transparency, accountability, fairness, and professionalism throughout all stages of scholarly publishing.
